Description: This layer identifies Site Remediation Program (SRP) cases that meet the definition of an Immediate Environmental Concern (IEC), as per N.J.A.C. 7:26E-1.8. As such, IEC cases are priority remedial cases that involve exposure to contaminants that may result in risks to human health. The IEC layer includes points representing potable well, vapor intrusion and direct contact IECs. The location of these points identifies the site where the source of the contamination originated from when known or a centralized location of a contaminated area when the source of the contamination is unknown. Additional information concerning an IEC case can be obtained by contacting Andrew Sites of the Bureau of the Immediate Concern Unit (ICU) at (609) 530-2582; the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) if one is associated with the case and through the IEC Dataminer report at https://datamine2.state.nj.us/DEP_OPRA/OpraMain/categories?category=General. The IEC layer will reflect current IEC data in NJEMS through nightly cycle updates.
